Éducation plurilingue au Cameroun : aménagements et modalités pour une didactique et une pédagogie des langues nationales

The collective work entitled Multilingual Education in Cameroon : Planning and Ways for the Teaching of National Languages looks at the unique linguistic diversity of Cameroon, a country with around 250 national languages in addition to French and English, its official languages. The contributors to this book endeavour to strengthen the conceptualisation of didactic and pedagogical practices relating to national languages, by highlighting their fundamental role in the development of learners’ skills. Taken as a whole, this book is a valuable resource for practitioners, researchers and decision-makers in education in Cameroon. It offers an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating national languages into education, and suggests practical ways of promoting a rich and inclusive multilingual education. By highlighting innovative practices and successful experiences, this collection of articles calls for national languages to be promoted as essential vectors of cultural identity and social development in the Cameroonian education system.
